Woke up on our first full day in Edinburgh and I decided to go for a run.
This city is pretty cool
I think we're all glad to not be spending time in the car today... I know I'm thankful to not be driving on Scottish country roads. The kids are sleeping in and we're letting them. Looks like we'll jumping into Edinburgh sightseeing after lunch.
First we went through Holyrood Palace and Holyrood Abby. It was cool to see the rooms of this functioning palace and view the ruins of the old abby.
Then, we went across the street to the Scottish Parliament and made arrangements to take a guided tour the next day.
From there, we walked through New Carlton Burial Ground and then walked past the New Parliament House (which the city is planning to lease out as a hotel) and Scottish Government buildings.
From there, we went to the Scott Monument. We climbed to the top and enjoyed some awesome views.
From there, we went back the apartment and had dinner in.
Then, Charlie and I went on a historic pub crawl.
Didn't go to bed too late... had to get up to see Edinburgh Castle the next morning.
