London - Day 3 - Westminster Abbey, Mexican tapas, St Paul's, historic taverns

Today, we started by visiting Westminster Abbey.  That was cool... lots of history (hint... study up on your War of the Roses notes...)

Then, we walked around the parliament building,

before crossing the river, strolling along the south bank and then having a Mexican tapas lunch.

From there, we walked up to St Paul's and visited that cathedral.

It was a cathedral kind of day.

For dinner, sort of let the kids eat what they wanted from the store (pizza and pre-made Indian).  Laura and I went on a mini historic tavern "crawl"... we only went to two.   First stop was Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, a pub that dates back to 1538 practically next door to where we're staying.

I had a steak and ale pie that was pretty tasty.

Then, we walked over to Ye Olde Mitre, an establishment that reportedly dates to 1546 (albeit with several remodelings... the latest in the 1930's....) that once saw the likes of William Shakespeare and Ben Johnson hanging out inside its doors.

Tomorrow... it's the Tower of London and Tower Bridge!
