Pap of Glencoe, Ballachulish

Today, we drove a comparatively short distance further into the Highlands up to Glencoe and the village of Ballashulish.

The day started with some quality time for me and Elodie on the balcony at the apartment in Oban.
The first thing we did in Glencoe was go on this killer hike

up to the top of the Pap of Glencoe
That's the Pap of Glencooe.  To the top and aback is 4.5 miles on the hkie we did and a 2350 ft elevation change
All smiles as we start out

A panorama from the top

Hiking down was hard.  Parts of the trail were very rocky and steep.

After the hike, we checked into our Guest House in Ballachulish

Unfortunately, Laura had slipped on the hike down and dislocated her finger on the hike down.  She popped it back in on her own, but it was swollen and so we decided to go up to the A&E hospital in Fort William to have it looked at.

The short drive over to Fort William was scenic

Determined that nothing major seemed wrong, we returned to Ballachulish and went to dinner.

Tomorrow, it's further up into the Highlands: Loch Ness and Culloden.
