So things are getting into something of a routine. This morning, I got up early and went for a run
After heading back to the apartment to have breakfast and rejoin the family, we all went for a walk around St Stephen's Green and then headed over to
St Patrick's Cathedral for a choral service.
Then we had lunch at a place called
The Larder.
Then we went to
Dublin Castle and had a tour. It' was pretty cool to see the old 12th century tower foundations buried deep under the existing buildings. Learning about the history of the very young Republic of Ireland (1922) was cool too.

After that, we headed up to
Croke Park to watch the Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Championship Final between Kilkenny and Galway. It
ended in a 0-18 0-18 tie. Apparently, that means that the two teams will play a whole new match. Hurling was a trip to watch.
After the match, we walked back to the apartment.

The girls decided to eat in... Charlie and I headed out for a guys night out. We landed at the
Auld Dubliner pub. We settled in upstairs and ate dinner while we watched Croatia and Denmark play their world cup match. That finished regulation and overtime tied as well and came down to penalty kicks...
Croatia won. During the game, there was a singer doing sets downstairs. It was just him, playing guitar and singing in a mostly Irisih-folksy style... he did do one set that Charlie and I called the "Bridal Shower Crowd Pleaser"... it included covers of Spice Girls, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Like A Virgin and several others in a similar vein all strung together. It was a little bizzare, but the chorus so screaming female "vocalists" crowding the front of the stage seemed to love it. Beer makes everyone sing better, doesn't it? To Charlie and me... it was just part of the ambiance.
Turning in now... tomorrow we drive to
Kilkenny Castle and then to Limerick.
