Dublin, Day 1; Pride, Guinness and Temple Bar

This morning we left Wales and boarded a ferry for Ireland.

Digging the Club Class seats!

Last view of Holyhead

We arrived in Dublin without incident, but somehow we managed to pick the day of the Dublin Pride Parade to arrive.  The parade route was pretty close to our apartment and where I'd chosen to park, so unfortunately, I couldn't drive to the garage I'd preselected.  This meant a last minute change to another garage nearby.  Oh well.  Things happen.

We'd booked a time at Guinness Storehouse to walk through their exhibits and finish at the Gravity Bar up top.  Along the way, we walked through Trinity College and by Christ Church and confirmed our tour of Dublin Castle for tomorrow.

We got to the Guinness Storehouse in plenty of time for our booked 4:30pm entry...  it's basically a marketing site IRL... but it's fun, anyway.  The highlight is getting a free pint of Guinness at the 7th floor 360 degree view bar.

After we had our "experience", we walked back through the remnants of the Pride parade and found our way to Temple Bar.  We were in search of a "pub" experience... but one that would allow us to sit down and eat and be able to talk to each other.  We settled on the restaurant upstairs at The Norseman.  Most of the family had fish and chips, but I got this braised steak with mashed potatoes that was awesome!

We walked back to our apartment and settled in.   Tomorrow we have a busy day planned.
