Transition Day

Today is an "in between" day.  After a fun couple days seeing family and friends, we're leaving Dubuque and going back to Chicago.  Tomorrow, we catch an early flight east to start our journey to Europe (but that entry is for tomorrow).

Today, it's about lazy mornings in bed (for the rest of the fam) and summer thundershowers.

I got up early (thankful for not over indulging last night) and went for another run.  This time, I found the park I set out for, Eagle Point Park, which sits up on a bluff over the river and command nice views of the dam and locks and where you can see three states (Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin) all at once.  Went a little further today, but I managed to avoid getting rained on.

1:25 pm
Stopped for lunch at a cool brewpub in Rockford on the way back to Chicago.

9:17 pm
We've checked in to a hotel near Midway for the night because we leave feaking early tomorrow.  After being unable to reach a consensus on where to have dinner as a group, I decided that it was time for some "separate time".  Charlie and I had a quick guys night out at TGI Friday's.

Laura and the girls had pizza in the room.  Everyone goes to bed happy.

Tomorrow's going to be a long day.
