Driving to Mont Saint Michel; evening at Mont Saint Michel

Today started for me with a run around the old harbor town of La Rochelle before the reset of the family got up.

It seems like every day is market day in La Rochelle.  Before we left, we dragged the kids through the market to pick up items for breakfast and lunch on the road.

The drive to Mont Saint Michel wasn't too bad.

We arrived a little after 3pm and once parked, we hopped on the shuttle to get from the parking area to the site.

I've been here 10 years ago, but it's still an impressive site.  We milled with the throngs of other "pilgrims" as we made our way to our hotel.  (Yes, we are staying overnight on the rock.)

After checking in, we left the kids alone in their room for awhile, while Laura and I did some exploring and then enjoyed a glass of wine to ourselves.

We enjoy dinner and then a stroll around before heading to bed.

The plan tomorrow is to do the abbey tour and then head to Bayeux.
