Madrid - full day

1:30pm
Today is our only full day in Madrid, but sadly it looks like we aren't going to make the most of it -- at least during the day time.   I got up around 9am and found Laura and Charlie planning to walk to the Complutense University of Madrid, one of the choices that Charlie could have for a study abroad experience.  It's about 3 miles away from where we're staying.  I decided to run there and back... well, mostly run.


It's hard to keep running when you need to consult with a map frequently.
I found the university.  As far as buildings and facilities go, it seemed pretty ordinary

On the way back, I went through the Plaza de Oriente in front of the Royale Palace of Madrid.

When I got back to the apartment, Katie and Elodie were still sleeping.  I don't think they're putting enough effort into shifting their timezone.

6:30pm

After rousting Katie and Elodie we went over and met Laura and Charlie at the Royale Palace and did the tour.

After the tour, we did some souvenir shopping and I found a hat (really wish I'd had it on that long walk in Lisbon)

Now, Laura and Katie are out shopping some more.  Charlie, Elodie and I are chilling before we head for dinner.

11:00pm
Elodie, Charlie and I met Laura and Katie for dinner at Tinto y Tapas for dinner.  We caught up on our adventures and enjoyed a nice meal for our last night in Madrid.

Tomorrow, we get up and drive to Barcelona.
