Lisbon - Day 3 - Tower of Belim; O Carvoeiro

9:00am
Starting to get used to this timezone.  I got up at 6:00am and went for a run.  Things were pretty deserted and unfortunately, no bakery or markets seemed to open until 7:30 or 8... so after 3-4 miles, I switched to walking mode to eat up more time.

I picked up some baked goods and other items and brought back for the rest of the family getting up.

This is our last day in Lisbon (we leave tomorrow morning) so we have some more sightseeing planned.

11:30pm

Today, we did a monster walk.  We walked from our apartment in Alfama all the way to the Belim Tower, through the streets and along the water front.

We had lunch by the Monastery of Jerónimos and sampled the famous Pasteis del Belim.  There were good.

By the end of that... the kids and I were pretty tired.  Laura wanted to keep going.  So, the kids and I took a cab back to the apartment took a siesta.  Laura continued her explorations.

This being our last night in Lisbon, I made a "must go" dinner for the kids, using up the food we had on hand.

Laura and I went out for an adult night out to O Carvoeiro, a hole-in-wall restaurant nearby.  It was good.

On the walk home, we came across a street car that had to stop because of a parked car.  It was on a section of the route that single tracked which meant that three trolleys going the other way were stopped too.  Some idiots and their parking... jeez

Tomorrow, we're off to Madrid!
