Barcelona - Day 2 - La Sagrada Familia, Barri Gotic and Las Ramblas

7:53am
This morning my running buddy, Elodie, decided to sleep in so I was on my own.  I headed south down to the harbor through the Gothic Quarter and then up Las Ramblas for a relatively flat 5k at something closer to my pace

This morning, after the rest of the fam gets up, we're heading to La Sagrada Familia.

10:20pm
Had a great day today!

Just before 9am, we left the apartment and went to La Sagrada Familiá.  I've seen pictures, but it's hard to get the experience without actually being there.

Our trip up the Passion towers included a visit to this "bridge"

climbing down.  It was a long way

After we got back from La Sagrada Familiá, Laura and I went out for a walk to the Latin Quarter.

Along the way, we went by the Arc de Triomf
We stopped in at the Museu de la Xocolata

and then visited the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar
which I'd also passed earlier in the day on my run.

We walked along the harbor and up Las Ramblas before ducking into El Pintxo de Petritxol for a late lunch.
We had the place pretty much to ourselves because we picked an off time.

After a short snooze during which Laura and the girls left to go shopping, Charlie and I head down the street to Timesburg Hambergueseria to sit at a sidewalk table and watch the Russia vs Egypt World Cup match.

It was a nice time out with Super Kid.
